Just a few comments on how our Support Group Meetings have touched some of the folks that have attended a meeting.

"When a friend first mentioned USMC Families I thought "Why would an Army mom go to a group for Marine  parents?" Then I went to the first meeting and found out it wasn't just for Marine parents but is definitely for ALL parents who have a son or daughter serving or had served and are proud but at the same time scared or worried about what might happen. You find out by attending the meetings the things you feel are "normal" for a parent but you are no longer alone. That is what USMC Families has helped me with the most, so I just want to say thank you again for being the open, warm people you are."

"Just to know that you guys are there any time I need to talk, cry or just need a hug is so comforting.  I always look forward to the next meeting and hate to see it come to an end.

Thank-you so very much to each and everyone of you for being there for us."

"I come to tears every time I think about how I felt before I found this group and all you guys. I was so alone. Now, I just cannot wait until the next time we see each other. I have true comfort, security, and lifelong bonds that I have never felt anywhere before! "

"I just wanted to thank you again for the meeting last night. You may not know  how much it helped but then again you may. I really  needed the support from everyone last night and you were all there, that helped so much, Thank you."

"I just wanted to say that this group is awesome. I have met and made strong, lasting friendships with the greatest people that I have ever met. You support me - you inspire me. No matter what goes on each day, I find that I always have you all in my thoughts and prayers along with my closest family. What a special group of people!"

"I too, never realized how much I would benefit from my son's decision to become a Marine. I was at a point in my life where circumstances had changed and keeping in touch with old friends was increasingly difficult which made for too much time to be sad and alone. Then somehow, I found one support group which gave me access to the first rally and help me connect to another mom. Next I responded to an article in the newspaper regarding the new Blue Star Chapter and met more moms. Finally, I invited myself to a USMC Families meeting and met all you great people.

While I haven't had to deal with any real serious or stressful situation yet, I sure enjoy the fellowship and find comfort in knowing that when the time comes, I know who I can count on."
